About the Artists
Anna Urrey, Flute
A versatile soloist, chamber music artist and orchestral musician, flutist Anna Urrey has been celebrated as "a revelation" and "a great young talent" (Il Giornale, Spoleto, Italy.)
Anna has performed with orchestras in the United States, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, and Oman. She performs regularly as Principal Flute of the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra in NYC, and has performed with the International Contemporary Ensemble, New Jersey Symphony, American Symphony Orchestra, Symphony in C, the Mark Morris Dance Company and Novus NY. Anna enjoys a wide variety of creative perforamnce projects as a core member of the Exponential Ensemble, Music from China's East-West Ensemble, and can be heard in the feature film, Little Women. A dedicated educator, she is a Wm. S. Haynes Ambassador Clinician, New York Philharmonic Teaching Artist and a faculty member of the Marymount School of New York. Anna holds the Master of Music degree and Performance Certificate from the Manhattan School of Music and Bachelor of Music degree from Rutgers University.
Kemp Jernigan, oboe
Oboist Kemp Jernigan performs extensively in and around New York City in ensembles varying in size and style. A graduate of the Yale School of Music, Kemp has been a guest artist at festivals such as Bridgehampton, White Mountains Music Festival, Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Society, Ocean Reef, Washington Friends of Music, Black Hills Chamber Music Society, Millbrook Music Assembly, and Musical Bridges over San Antonio. He is a frequent guest performer with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Mark Morris Dance Group Ensemble, as well as a founding member of the ensemble SoundMind and a core member of the Exponential Ensemble. Kemp is on the faculties of The Hartt School and The State University of New York at Purchase. Performing with these ensembles and festivals has led him to meet and play with many incredible people and live a life of sharing his love for music with others. Kemp received his Bachelor of Music degree from The Hartt School at The University of Hartford, Performers Certificate from SUNY Purchase and Master of Music degree from The Yale School of Music.
Pascal Archer, Clarinet
Hailed by the New York Times as "outstanding clarinetist," Pascal Archer leads an active career as a chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher. He is the founder of the Exponential Ensemble and currently acting principal clarinet of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, principal clarinet of the Glimmerglass Opera Festival Orchestra and the NEPA Philharmonic. He is also a former member of the New World Symphony.
He is a member of the American Modern Ensemble and has collaborated with the JACK and St. Laurence String Quartets, Camerata Pacifica and toured with Musicians from Marlboro. He has performed at renowned summer festivals such as Marlboro. Mostly Mozart and Verbier, to name a few.
