Join us for a wonderful recital by our Assistant Concertmaster Ashley Windle and pianist Taisiya Pushkar. The program features a recently composed work by Jessie Montgomery as well as works by Mozart and Joel Engel. Streaming on Facebook and YouTube. Free! The concert will last approximately 35 minutes.

Violinist Ashley Windle is a founding member of the Fair Trade Chamber Music Society and is the violinist of its core ensemble, the Fair Trade Trio, a professional string trio that regularly performs around New York City and tours North America. The trio specializes in creating accessible performances for all audiences and has a mission to champion the works of living female composers alongside the standard chamber music canon. A passionate orchestral player, she is the Assistant Concertmaster of the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra. She is also a proud member and supporter of The Dream Unfinished orchestra which presents socially conscious concerts in New York City. She was the Leslie Scholar in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago where she performed with world-renowned conductors including Bernard Haitink, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Gustavo Dudamel. Ashley received her Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and her Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.

Pianist Taisiya Pushkar has performed extensively in Italy, The Netherlands, Belgium, Israel, Canada and the United States as a recitalist and in collaboration with many leading singers and instrumentalists. Most notably, a long-time musical partnership with the cellist Amber Docters van Leeuwen has led to the recording of their debut CD, which has been released on the Brilliant Classics label. Together, the duo has made their debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. She is the official pianist of the Melodia Women's Choir of NYC, a group dedicated to exploring rarely heard music written for women's voices, as well as nurturing emerging women composers through commissions and performances. Taisiya also collaborates with the Young People's Chorus of NYC, and has recently become their first full time collaborative pianist. Dr. Taisiya Pushkar holds a Bachelor's Degree from Oberlin College, and a Master’s Degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she recently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree.
